What kind of media do you create?
IX Media specializes in photo and video production services. Wether you are looking for headshots, portraits, event coverage, or cutting edge video services, we have all you media needs covered. We also have experience in drone work, real estate media, and narrative video work.
Do you charge a deposit?
Yes. In order to schedule you and lock your date we will ask for a $50 deposit. Deposits are non refundable but are transferable as long as you provide 48 hours of notice beforehand. Rainchecks and other cancellations will allow you to pick a new shoot date in the future.
How does booking work?
We ask you look to book us for your shoot at least 2 weeks out in order to make sure we are available. Weekends are typically better for us then week days. After receiving a quote and paying a deposit, we will confirm your booking date.
I have an event I want photos or video taken at. Which package would cover those services?
The hourly rate will cover expenses for event coverage. Please see video or photo packages. If you want video and photo from the same event, please reach out to me and specify that. I can do both, I just need to change gears during the event.
Do you do weddings or engagements?
I started out in the industry doing weddings back in 2012. Since then I've grown and become an expert in other areas. But to answer the question, yes. I'm even willing to offer a special rate for those looking to book us in order to shoot something to use in our portfolio. Please reach out with your date and let me know what you are looking for.
Can I come to your studio?
As a small business working out of a home, we do not have a studio per say. If you are looking for a solo portrait or green screen talking head video, there is an option to come to Ferndale and record what you need.
What is your travel fee?
Any location outside of a 40 mile radius from Ferndale, MI will have a travel fee. Starting at $50 all the way to $200 for the max distance of 150 miles. Please contact me to arrange for travel outside of those distances.
Do you do just video editing by itself without shooting?
I offer editing for any footage I shoot. I'm more than happy to use other footage to supplement my own depending on the project.
How do you select music for your videos?
You provide me a feel of what you are looking for and I will pre-select a few royalty free tracks to sample and use in the piece.
What kind of gear do you use?
I own a Canon R5c, 24-70 2.8 RF Lens, 24-105 4.0 EF Lens, Zoom F3, Sennheiser G3 lav set, apurture video lights, Wescott FJ strobes, as well as other types of small production grip and gaffing gear. I'm almost a master of the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop). The gear hunt never ends and I will probably need to update this soon.
Do you rent your gear out?
No. If you are looking to rent gear locally I recommend PROCAM in Livonia or online from Lensrentals.com.
Do you have an assistant or second shooters available?
I have several contacts for other shooters, just no one immediately on staff. I can not guarantee they will be available on your chosen date. For the most part, it's just me coming out by myself. Generally adding additional shooters will increase the prices upwards of $500+ as we need to pay for their services plus camera rentals.
Do you offer workshops or training for photography or videography?
Yes. I have trained and taught classes before. Please reach out to me to schedule a time for me to come teach a class or schedule private lessons.
